Key responsibilities

• Scheduling and logistics: Plan and schedule the transportation of crude oil and natural gas through pipelines, adjusting schedules as needed to accommodate maintenance, emergencies, or changing demand.
• Data analysis: Analyze storage levels, gas flows, and transportation capacities to optimize scheduling and minimize risks.
• Communication and coordination: Act as a central point of communication between different departments, stakeholders, and external parties, including pipeline operators, shippers, and distributors.
• Compliance and safety: Ensure all plans and activities comply with safety, health, and environmental standards, which may involve creating work permits, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses.
• Project planning: On larger projects, a planner may focus on detailed project planning, while the scheduler focuses on the day-to-day execution and task sequencing.
• Reporting: Prepare reports for management on the status of operations and project schedules.

Required skills and qualifications

• Education: A high school diploma is often the minimum, but a technical diploma or university degree may be preferred, especially for roles on larger projects.
• Experience: 5+ years of oil & gas industry planner schedule experience
• Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also crucial for coordinating with various teams and stakeholders.
