Role & Responsibilities At Bold, physical education is an integral part of our program as students develop the skills and habits that will drive success in college and beyond. Beginning in Kindergarten, students learn the foundational techniques that prepare them to participate in individual and team sports at the upper grades. As students develop their skills and improve their performance, they also learn and practice values of teamwork, leadership, competition, and fair play. As a Physical Education Teacher at Bold Charter School, you will ensure that every student experiences a learning environment that inspires a commitment to personal performance alongside values of team, respect, humility, and passion. You will be part of a results‑oriented and collaborative team of professionals who are relentless in their pursuit of educational excellence as we build to K‑12. Key Responsibilities Develop and apply a deep understanding of Bold’s goals, vision, and values to build a culture of purpose and impact Drive outcomes for all students by regularly analyzing data, assessing student performance, and implementing high‑leverage instructional strategies Engage students in fitness and movement activities that inspire an appreciation for athletics and a personal commitment to health, fitness, and physical performance Collaborate with colleagues to create a learning environment that makes learning visible through ongoing family communication and activities Train with colleagues and school leaders, which includes regularly implementing feedback with grace and urgency in service of student achievement, a values‑based school culture and a positive, professional work environment Develop strong relationships with families and students, including regular communication that creates high levels of investment in academic and personal achievement Demonstrating a mission‑first mindset to ensure all decisions and actions are rooted in ensuring that all students excel Qualifications 3+ years of Physical Education teaching experience in a high‑performing K‑12 setting with a proven track record of success Athletics coaching experience in a competitive, college‑preparatory environment preferred Bachelor’s degree with an outstanding record of achievement and leadership; graduate degree in a related field preferred NYS Teacher Certification preferred Start Date: Flexible Compensation: Bold Charter School offers highly competitive compensation, in the top range of comparable positions across New York City charter schools. The starting salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 annually and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
