eGastroMD is a patient-centered gastroenterology support organization dedicated to providing efficient scheduling, seamless communication, and exceptional service to patients and providers. The Remote Appointment Setter will be responsible for handling inbound and outbound calls, messages, and scheduling requests to coordinate patient appointments for gastroenterology services. This role requires strong communication abilities, excellent organization skills, and the ability to work professionally in a fast-paced remote environment.
Handle incoming calls, messages, and inquiries related to appointment scheduling.
Make outbound calls to confirm, reschedule, or follow up on patient appointments.
Assist patients with understanding availability, provider options, and required documentation.
Accurately schedule appointments in the electronic medical record (EMR) or scheduling system.
Update and maintain patient records with accurate and up-to-date information.
Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and internal staff.
Identify urgent or complex patient needs and escalate to the proper clinical or administrative team.
Meet productivity and accuracy targets, including call handling times and scheduling quality.
Protect patient information and uphold all HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
Previous experience in appointment setting, scheduling, medical office support, or healthcare call center preferred.
Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills.
Strong data entry abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and manage call volumes efficiently.
Familiarity with EMR systems or scheduling platforms is a plus.
Customer-focused, patient, and able to maintain professionalism under pressure.
Reliable internet connection and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
